I’ve been using drip irrigation for almost twenty years now and this is a good starter kit at a decent price — enough to do one long bed or several smaller ones. The emitters I first got from Rainbird puncture the 1/2″ line, which works ok for a while but creates a hole that must then be plugged if you ever shift your layout. I like the design on these better, where the barbs fits onto the 1/4 feeder lines, but the system does require the use of the 1/2-1/4 adapters (only three of which are included here), which will become irreversible splices the line. The net results is about the same permanence in setup but with a lower long-term risk of leak. The blue emitters are only appropriate for a pressured line. Most of my system is rain-sourced and gravity fed, which won’t produce enough pressure to spray, so keep that in mind if you are in the same boat.
